Fabrication of Pipe by Welding, Part 1: In this lesson you will learn where pipelines are used, the reliability of pipelines, the effects of pipe threads, and ways to determine pipe wall thickness. You will also learn how pipe dimensions are specified by both weight and the schedule system, and also the common compositions of pipe and their designations. We will discuss what fittings are available as standard items and also how to make fittings. Fabrication of Pipe by Welding, Part 2: Here you will learn the applications, the advantages, and the limitations of the welding processes now in use as they apply to the fabrication of pipe. We will also cover joint designs and backing structures as well as how pipes are welded, the troubles that can develop and how to prevent them.
