Description
There are many areas of daily operations in a wastewater treatment plant that involves repetitive calculations and data management. The use of a spreadsheet can automate many of those tasks and provide an assurance of consistency and accuracy in their calculations. Eight examples of using a spreadsheet in a wastewater treatment plant will be presented (and included on a handout CD). Each spreadsheet will be presented in a way that the students understand how to construct it and use it for their own use.

* Overview of the spreadsheet tool bar
* Basic commands such as opening files, saving files, entering formulas, and simple functions
* Advance commands such as formatting cells, using multiple worksheets, importing data, look ups and parsing.
* Presentations on constructing eight different spreadsheets currently being used by wastewater plant staff
Target Audience
Wastewater treatment operators, laboratory personnel, management staff and municipal and authority officials.
