Description
The purpose of this course is to introduce operators to water filtration processes. The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection requires that all public water systems using a surface water source or a ground water under direct influence of surface water source include filtration as part of their treatment process. This course explains the different types of filtration systems that can be used to meet regulatory requirements and discusses how each filtration method works, along with their advantages, limitations, and applications. It also covers different types of sources along with their contaminants and characteristics.
