Description
The “Stages of Drinking Water Treatment” course was developed to provide water professionals with a foundational understanding of the treatment processes required to convert raw water into safe drinking water. Because untreated water may contain physical, chemical, and biological contaminants, a sequence of carefully controlled treatment stages is necessary to protect public health and meet drinking water quality requirements. The course provides an overview of the major stages of treatment, including preliminary treatment, coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, disinfection, sludge management, and additional treatment processes, helping participants understand how each stage contributes to the production of safe, reliable drinking water.
