Description
This lesson will make clear how a polyphase a-c induction motor can be reconnected to suit new operating conditions. It will be shown what changes can be obtained by only reconnecting the existing windings and what changes require a rewinding of the motor. For the most part, the changes made in reconnecting induction motors involve the coils on the stator, or stationary part, of the motor. These changes will be considered very carefully and in detail in this text.
