Description
To many people a switch is a simple on/off device that controls a lamp or appliance. However in the field of electronics, this is only one of the many uses of switching components. Switching functions can be performed by mechanical (manual) switches or by electronic circuitry. In this study unit you will learn about the advantages and disadvantages of using mechanical switches and electronic switches, how switches function, and how they are used in electronic circuits.
