Description
This course is unique in that each student has access to various types of mechanical seals including component, cartridge and split seals to be installed on end-suction centrifugal pumps for troubleshooting, investigation, and assembly in the effort to learn how to:
1. Properly select and apply standard types of mechanical seals.
2. Understand and utilize accessory equipment to maximize MTBF life of seals.
3. Analyze damaged seals to diagnose the reasons for seal failure.
4. Understand rountine maintenance required and equipment configuration needs for successful mechanical seal installations.
