Description
This half-day workshop is designed to provide participants with an understanding of the operation, analysis, calibration, and maintenance requirements of laboratory and online turbidity analyzers. The workshop is most relevant to attendees monitoring low-level turbidity in a drinking water application; however, the principles are also applicable to wastewater and other higher-level turbidity applications. The major topics covered in this course include the calibration and maintenance of laboratory turbidimeters, low-level turbidity measurement techniques, low-level verification of laboratory measurements, calibration of online turbidimeters, maintenance and troubleshooting of online turbidimeters, and performance verification on online turbidimeters. Students are required to analyze water samples of known and unknown values. Since plant decisions are often based on the results of analytical testing, this course is applicable to both drinking water and wastewater operations.
