In this text we will focus on planning considerations that you can apply to most of the rigging jobs you encounter - How to equalize or distribute loads during rigging; How to plan and execute a successful rigging job; and How to identify potential rigging hazards and work safely during the rigging opertion. By learning the basic principle and its typical applications, you will then be able to apply the principle to similar situations in your daily work. If you use your ingenuity, you will be able to apply many of the principles to new and unusual job situations. Also included in this text is a list of common rigging terms that you should study and keep for reference. The general objective of this study unit is to give you information that will help you to do rigging work intelligently, efficiently, and safely.
