Description
Practical training which reviews adminstrative aspects of safe forklift operation. This course is intended to complement a federal OSHA-approved course which involves actual driving - this is the classroom part. It includes a thorough review of pre-use check, material handling and driving techniques. Also covered is driver responsibility for safety and emergency response.

* Typical accident exposures with forklifts and small motorized industrial trucks.
* Workplace observations regarding operating hazards.
*use inspection of forklift: mast, forks, wheels, hydraulic fluids, lift cylinders and power source.
* Determining rated capacity and factors that may reduce capabilities.
* Common techniques for handling and moving loads.
* Stacking and unstacking loads.
* Driving with a load; safe speeds; floor conditions affecting performance.
* Safe steering techniques.
* Review and open discussion.
Target Audience
Industrial truck operators (forklifts) and managers / supervisors of forklift drivers.
