Description
To review electrical systems safety in a practical context to help workers identify potential hazards, know how to protect themselves from electrocution / shock / burns and to apply basic safety procedures in system operations: energy control, ground fault, "hot" work procedures, and to achieve general understanding of codes, standards and regulations regarding electrical safety.

* Accident scenarios from OSHA files *related deaths from electrocution * The effects of electrical contact and ventricular fibrillation * Engineering controls on electrical systems * Safe work practices in controlling electrical hazards * Lockout / tagout procedures and applications in electrical safety * Definition of qualified electrical worker * Working safely with energized electrical systems * Use of personal protective equipment for electrical hazards * Working with overhead power lines * Emergency rescue and first aid for shock victims * Review some actual contitions in the workplace and identify potential electrical hazards * Guide for personal safety during thunderstorms
