Description
Review hazards associated with welding and cutting work, appropriate safe guards and use of PPE to protect workers. Program is practical application of experience knowledge applied to a variety of working situations including breakdown and emergency hotwork, understanding to prevent accidents, worker injury and property conservation.

* Accident review - types of accidents likely to occur in hotwork activity * Worksafe practices relative to worksite, equipment, personal protection and safe working procedures * hazard control, equipment for particular work environment ...hot work permit * Personal safety: fumes and particles; lead exposure; heat; noise; light and electricity * Engineering controls: ventilation and shields * Personal protective equipment: clothing; eye (filters and safety eyewear), head and face; hearing; respiratory; gloves; work shoes; safety helmets * Safe work areas: housekeeping; clearance to flammable / combustibles; fire watches and portable extinguishers * Safe work practices: barrier off area; fall protection; confined space entry; lockout / tagout and energy control * Equipment safety: arc welding; oxyfuel welding; cylinder handling; hoses and detecting leaks * Heat stress
