Description
During 2003-2005, Pa public water suppliers received a Source Water Assessment Program Report (SWAP) from DEP enabling water suppliers to evaluate contaminant risks to raw water sources (both groundwater and surface water). Attendees will learn benefits of the multiple barrier approach to protect public health, and reduce treatment costs. Attendees will also learn the SPA recommended five-step process to implement a community-based management protection plan. This workshop will aso highlight examples of protection plans across Pennsylvania and where to find sources of technical and financial support, including DEP's Source Water Protection Grants. Attendees will aso receive a Source Water Protection Toolkit.
