Description
OSHA established the Hazard Communication Standard, 29 CFR 1910.1200, in 1986. The standard was created to provide an information system on hazardous chemicals for both employers and employees.
The Hazard Communication Standard requires you to ensure that all your employees know what hazardous materials exist in the workplace, how to safely use these materials and how to deal with any hazardous material emergency that arises. The standard also requires you to keep records and train employees in the safe use of hazardous materials.
