a. Background and Purpose of Course: In January 1993, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) issued its final standard on permit-required confined spaces, 29 CFR 1910.146. The OSHA Standard requires that you do the following: * Identify the confined spaces and permit-required confines spaces in your workplace. * Identify the hazards in those spaces * Identify procedures for controlling the hazards. * Train employees in confined space entry. * Keep records of compliance and training for all confined space entry activities. This program is designed to present a step-by-step approach to developing a confined space entry program and making sure all of your employees receive the proper training and tools they need.
