Description
This course introduces the utility members of the Partnership for Safe Water Treatment program to the Phase I and Phase II requirements. It also describes the benefits of using the Self-Assessment process of the Partnership program to begin to optimize water treatment plant operations to reduce costs and also assist with compliance of environmental regulations. Participants in the classroom meetings will work through development and analysis of plant performance graphs and analyze various trends from raw, top of filter, and filtered water turbidity data. The classroom discussion will also center around reviewing multiple filter run profiles to determine possible areas of optimization and methods that can be applied to enhance performance. A discussion of beginning the Self-Assessment process and steps to achieve the Phase III status will also be covered.
