Description
This course will provide instruction on all aspects of how to develop a wellhead protection plan for small groundwater systems. Source water assessment reports (SWAP) were recently completed for public water supplies. These reports define the wellhead/source water protection area and locations of risks within that area. Risks are ranked on a scale of high to low. Wellhead protection is a well documented method for improving water quality and reducing treatment costs. This course is targeted toward small water systems that serve a population <=500 that have limited resources to apply toward treatment or new sources.
