Description
In the near future approximately 2/3 of the WWTP's in PA will be required to remove both nitrogen and phosphorus in addition to existing NPDES requirements. Most of PA's flow through (non-SBR) WWTP's will have to be upgraded to meet these new requirements. Most SBR's have an inherit ability to remove nitrogen biologically. However, operators of existing SBR wastewater treatment plants must be taught how to operate their plant to maximize nitrogen removal. The development of this course is in direct response to this timely need. Although the course is intended for wastewater operators of SBR plants, other experienced wastewater operators will find it of interest.
Course Level
Intermediate thru Advanced
Course Content
*SBR Principles *Biological Nutrient Removal *SBR Operation, Performance Test and Control *SBR Biology, Microscopic Observation *SBR's and Specialties
Target Audience
The Target audience is intermediate to advanced level wastewater treatment plant operators if SBR wastewater treatment plants. Attendees are expected to have a basic understanding of the SBR process. Operators of other types of wastewater treatment plants and engineers that work closely with SBR operators should also find the course to be of value.
