Description
This workshop is designed as an introduction to the analytical techniques and systems available for water quality measurements in applications including drinking water, wastewater, environmental water, and industrial water. Parameters covered in this course include pH, conductivity (electrochemical), and alkalinity and hardness (titrimetric). For each parameter, samples will be analyzed, and method verification will be discussed and practiced. Course objectives will be met by presenting technical background, incorporating practical applications of analytical testing, and through "hands-on" experience with each testing parameter using portable field use and laboratory instruments. Students are required to analyze water samples of known and unknown values.
