Description
It is important for a water system to provide non-corrosive water throughout its distribution system. Corrosive water can cause two major problems for water systems. It deteriorates distribution systems and metal plumbing materials by weakening pipes and fixtures, and the metals that leach into the water supply as a result can affect the color, odor, taste, and safety of the water. This training was developed to examine the effects of corrosive water on pipes and other fixtures. It also will address corrosion control methods using testing and the adjustment of water's acidity (pH) and carbonate levels.
