Topics that will be covered include forms of nitrogen and phosphorous, biological nitrogen removal processes, biological phosphorous removal processes, key operating indicators, chemical phosphorous removal, process control overview, and sampling techniques. Advanced process control math problem solving will be studied (i.e. food to mass, mean cell residence time, and wasting rates). Students should bring a scientific calculator to this class.
