Description
Water distribution systems are a vital part of ensuring public health and safety. The primary purpose of water distribution systems is the delivery of sufficient quantities of potable water while maintaining water quality. While the delivery of drinking water is the most visible part of the distribution system, the system must be built to the higher demands that firefighting can place upon it - firefighting can require twice the pressure or more of normal delivery pressure. To meet these goals, systems are designed by engineers, working closely with city planners, to meet present and future residential and industrial needs. This course explores the various materials and equipment utilized in the installation and maintenance of clean water distribution systems.
