Description
This training program will present and discuss the three basic methods used to evaluate safety and health program effectiveness.
* Documentation - Checking existing or established relevant safety and health documentation.
* Interviews - Interviews of employees at all levels for health and safety knowledge, awareness and perceptions.
* Observation - Observe and review work-site conditions for hazards or potential hazards. Where found, note weaknesses in management systems or procedures which either:
* Contribute to hazards or
* Do not prevent hazards from occurring.
Some elements of the safety and health program are best assessed using one of these methods. Others lend themselves to assessment by two or all three methods.
