Description
The traditional course in Geology focuses on the long term history of the world, the identification of rocks, and memorization of the names given to long dead animals. This course will be markedly different. The focus will be on practical aspects of Geology
This will include the following area that most affect operation of a utility:
*The hydrologic character of soil and rocks
*The engineering character of soil and rocks
This is only an introduction. We will only skin the surface. There is a tremendous amount of literature and experience on these subjects. This instructor would be pleased if the operator goes on to read more from various authors. If you are still training for a higher position, after this course you may consider a career in Civil/Environmental Engineering or in Engineering Geology.
