This one hour course provides an overview of safety guidelines pertaining to chemical and biological safety. A look at Todays’ indicators for vulnerability assessment and plant security safety is demonstrated in this course. Some good tips for preventing accidents and injuries through creating a list or workbook for monthly or periodically auditing the plant for do’s and don’ts, this course is a good source guide for developing your own checklist specific to your requirements.

The discussion of both OSHA regulations pertaining chemical safety in the laboratory, OSHA 29 CFR Part 1910.1450 along with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1200 standards for Occupational Exposures to Hazardous Chemicals in Laboratories and standards for Hazard Communication are discussed in this chapter. A commonsense approach to chemicals is outlined for your protection and monitoring for security and safety. Another area discussed in this series of Laboratory Safety is Biosafety. What are the various levels, what precautions should you take, and security means that you should take. This is part three of a five block series, Laboratory Safety.
