Description
The course provides a brief review of the significant organisms found in biofilm, the roles they perform, operational factors that affect their numbers, and the movement of wastes and products into and out of the biofilm. The course illustrates sampling and microscopic techniques for examining the biofilm and the use of "indicator" organisms.
