Description
This course will provide the water and wastewater operator with the fundementals of accounting. The course will include the three basic aspects of accounting:accounting equation (assets=liabilities+owners equity), financial and income statements, and budget making.
The prnciples of accounting will discuss " What is an asset?", "What are my liabilities?", and "What is our bottom line?", along with an example of an operator working for a county government and his future retirement planning.
The financial and income statements section will provide the operator with a quik basic understanding of these accounting statements and what goes in them. This will increase your understanding of financial reporting, in order to proceed into the last section, developing a budget, this section willl provide insight into the Utility Budget Process and developing your own budget.
