Description
The Federal Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) provides a comprehensive framework for regulating the collection, treatment, storage, and distribution of potable water. The PA DEP assumes primary enforcement responsibility under the Federal SDWA to assure the provision of safe drinking water by establishing drinking water standards and developing a State program to implement and enforce the standards. The Consumer Confidence Report Rule is one of those standards with which all community water systems must comply.
The purpose of this course is to provide an introduction to the Consumer Confidence Report Rule, as applied to community water systems. CWSs must follow this rule to provide information about the safety and quality of drinking water in that system.
