Description
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has established Standard 29 CFR 191 0.178 covering the safe use of powered industrial trucks. Even though the OSHA standard covers many types of powered industrial trucks, this guide will cover OSHA requirements for safe operation of the most common types of powered industrial trucks. These are the requirements of the OSHA standard: Only trained and authorized operators are permitted to operate powered industrial trucks. Powered industrial trucks must be operated in a safe manner. Powered industrial trucks must be maintained in safe operating condition. In short, you need to have well-maintained powered industrial trucks and welltrained employees who can operate powered industrial trucks safely.
