Description
As mandated by the PUC and strongly recommended by PA DEP, this course is designed to provide Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County personnel with a tabletop exercise that will test the effectiveness of their Emergency Response Plans. Several scenarios recommended in the PA DEP Water Supply Manual and in the ERP template will be exercised. Six scenarios from the list shown above in Section 2c will be tested. Participants will use the procedures and policies outlined in their ERP to address each scenario. Participants will discuss and record their actions as they respond to the unfolding emergency scenario. Each scenario will then be reviewed in a hot wash to discuss lessons learned and possible revisions to the ERPs. The anticipated end result of the course is that the water systems will have tested, analyzed and critiqued the effectiveness of their ERPs.
