Description
(Advanced Systems, Inc Course) The purpose of the course is to provide tools for training laboratory personnel to conduct annual training to prevent improper laboratory practices. The principles for preventing improper practices in the environmental chemistry laboratory are based on requirements found in the NELAC standard (2003) which includes the ISO/IEC 17025 "General Requirements for the Compentence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories" standard.
EPWPCOA, Inc's Laboratory Training Committee has received more requests for ethics-based training than any other training topic. This course is in fullfillment of those requests.

Course Content
The course will be in four main parts:
1. Ethics Handling Protocol: Definitions of Improper Practices, What is an ethics program?, and Documentation of Ethical Conduct.
2. Data Handling Protocol: Dos and Donts, calibration and quality control practices, and archiving data.
* What is it?, elecronic data integrity, computer software validation/verification, handling elecrtonic data calculations, and security and protection of data.
4. Record keeping principles: Corrective action program, logbook protocols, traceability of data and data review.
Target Audience
Laboratory personnel from wastewater or drinking water facilities. The course is directed to quality assurance officers, laboratory managers and supervisors of testing operations.
