Description
Increasingly the distribution system is being seen as the key factor in the successful day-to-day operation of a water utility. This fact should not be surprising, considering that the distribution system is the customer's primary point of contact with any water supplier. Coupled with the fact that upwards of 60% to 70% of a water utility's capital investment is allocated to the distribution of finished water, the importance of delivering a quality "product" cannot be dismissed.
This two-day course will provide the information you need to meet the challenge of operating your distribution system to maintain flows and pressures and high water quality. You will learn about what types of water quality problems can be associated with your distribution system and what regulations apply to the distribution system. The dynamic conditions in the distribution system further contribute to its complexity and challenge and increase the need to keep current on regulations and technology.
