Description
When water treatment problems are addressed in a reactive manner, problem anticipation and prevention efforts are superficial or non-existent. As a result, preventable, minor problems become significant problems and ulitmately treatment processes are upset. The bottom line result of such a scenario is an increase risk to public health. The avoidance of this result depends on operating water treatment facilities in a proactive manner where preventable problems are prevented and unpreventable problems are minimized. To this end, a basic understanding of the specifics of a proactive approach is essential information. The Proactive Waterworks Operator training course has been developed to provide and reinforce this understanding to Pennsylvania's waterworks operators.
