Description
Operations personnel face math problems on the job every day. This course is designed to build confidence in the understanding of basic mathematics and problem solving. In a relaxed setting, students are encouraged to draw on workplace experience and common sense to improve their basic math skills and to learn to solve math-related problems that occur daily in the workplace.

Course Content
Students will learn how to use formulas and will complete practice problems in the following: * Addition and subtraction * Multiplication and division * Area / volume calculations * Metric conversions * Percentages / graphs * Weight / volume relationships * Velocity and flow rate calculations / conversions * Afternoon breakout sessions will concentrate on water or wastewater problems
Target Audience
Water and wastewater treatment plant personnel, public work employees and anyone preparing for a water or wastewater licensing exam.
