Description
Activated sludge is the most common secondary treatment process for wastewater. To operate your system at optimal efficiency you must understand the microbiology of activated sludge and you must be able to identify and troubleshoot problems as they arise. This two-day course gives attendees the opportunity to discuss their system with one of the experts in the field.

Course Content
The course focuses on practical applications. You will better understand how the activated sludge process works, what causes different types of process problems and how to control them. Bulking and foaming will receive particular attention. A lab analysis of attendees' mixed liquor samples allows for reinforcement of the course materials and interactive case study discussions of the processes and problems at various plants.

This course is designed for professionals who operate, design, manage or regulate activated sludge wastewater treatment plants.
