The following topics are covered:
Trickling filters:
* Explanation of the process and operation of trickling filters; description of the basic types of trickling filters in use; determination of the hydraulic and organic loading guidelines used for trickling filters; description of basic startup and shutdown procedures; identification of operational problems and correctional strategies.
Rotating biological contractors:
* Explanation of the RBC process; explanation of the guidelines and formula for hydraulic and organic loading of RBC's description of factors affecting the efficiency of RBCs.
