* Purpose of conventional treatment * List major chemicals used for coagulation process and their importance * Explain the importance of flocculation and identify types of flocculators used * Describe basic operating parameters and characteristics of sedimentation process * Apply formulas for varous sedimentation and filtration calculations * Review filtration including performance considerations * Identify the necessity for accurate logs and record keeping * Provide descriptions of normal operations including plant procedures * Explain the reasons for jar testing and describe the procedure
