The following topics are covered:
Sludge thickening:
* Why sludge thickening is necessary; the principal methods used; Henry's law; a basic understanding of the formulas used to calculate solids and hydraulic loading, the air to solids ratio and the depth of the sludge blanket; identify and explain the function of DAF system components.
Sludge digestion and gas facilities:
* The basic principles of anaerobic digestion, and the flow process during sludge and gas digestion; equipment used in sludge digestion and gas facilities; proper safety procedures.
