Description
This course reviews the different types of BOD and their impact upon the treatment process (DO demand, nutrient demand etc.); the different types of metabolism or degradation of BOD (aerobic, anoxic and anaerobic) and their consequences such as permit compliance or violation and treatment upset; sludge production and factors affecting sludge production and ORP as an operational tool to monitor and regulate bacterial activity (metabolism).
