Description
Water/wastewater managers and personnel need to be prepared for emergencies using an all-hazards approach. This course is designed to provide an overview of the EPA version of Incident Command System 100 and the National Incident Management System 700 courses. The information provided will help attendees understand their role in emergency response and how to may be integrated into a larger response effort. The information will also help attendees take the on-line FEMA test to become certified in these two courses. The course will also provide information on locating emergency resources through various sources such as Emergency Management and PaWARN (Pennsylvania Water/Wastewater Agency Response Network). The course will explore emergency communications options such as the Government Emergency Telecommunications Service. The 3S Approach of Safety, Security and Sustainability will provide guidance on how systems can develop a long-term approach to emergency preparedness. The purpose of the course is to provide a foundation for systems to better prepare for emergencies ranging from severe weather to acts of terrorism.
