The goal of the oneday workshop is to provide participants with an accurate, real-life picture of what it eans to be a supervisor, the expectations for the position, the skills and knowledge required as a supervisor, and the path to effectively supervise others.

* Role of the supervisor is defined. Many facets to supervising--this course deals with the people skills side of supervising.
* Supervisory challenges are identified and ways to combat the challenges are discussed.
* How to communicate your expectations clearly in both written and verbal format are discussed and practiced.
* Steps on how to get started, first meetings, meetings with HR, peers, other functional areas are reviewed.
* Engagement diamond exercise identifies the motivators for the participants and options available for motivating staff.
* Participants identify their managerial strengths and weaknesses and create a road map to enhancing their deficiencies.

Newly hired supervisors (0-5 years), employees who have an interest in becoming a supervisor
