* Role of the supervisor is defined. Many facets to supervising--this course deals with the people skills side of supervising. * Supervisory challenges are identified and ways to combat the challenges are discussed. * How to communicate your expectations clearly in both written and verbal format are discussed and practiced. * Steps on how to get started, first meetings, meetings with HR, peers, other functional areas are reviewed. * Engagement diamond exercise identifies the motivators for the participants and options available for motivating staff. * Participants identify their managerial strengths and weaknesses and create a road map to enhancing their deficiencies.
