Description
This course reviews the disease agents associated with wastewaters, sludges, compost, aerosols and contaminated materials. Disease agents present include viruses, bacteria, fungi, protozoa and helminths (roundworms and tapeworms). Special reviews are offered for Hepatitis viruses, HIV (AIDS virus) and West Nile Virus, Leptosporosis, Giardiasis, Cryptosporidium and roundworm and tapeworm diseases. Disease transmission, body defenses and hygiene measures are presented.
