Description
The purpose of this course is to train the worker in the lifesaving skills of CPR for the person that has suffered sudden cardiac arrest or a person that is choking and cannot breathe. The purpose of the basic first aid skills is to provide the rescuer with basic skills to give the injured or ill person immediate lifesaving care until competent medical care arrives and takes over. This program will concentrate on the first five minutes of care. Basic first aid caregivers can save lives and reduce recovery time and sometimes can be the difference between a lifelong or temporary disability for a person.

Course Content
Choking remediation, CPR, personal safety for the rescuer when rendering aid, triage, head to toe exams, bleeding control, splinting, medical emergencies, burn care, first aid for strains and sprains, head, neck or spinal injury, heat or cold emergencies, nosebleeds, open and closed chest injuries.
Target Audience
Anyone that can assist in helping someone who has suffered cardiac arrest, choking or injuries or sudden illnesses. In wastewater operations CPR/First Aid training has become mandatory.
