Description
The purpose of the course is to introduce the students to the use of Ultraviolet light for disinfection of drinking water and wastewater. UV is becoming more common as plants move away from chlorine for safety reasons and to avoid the potential for formation of chlorination byproducts. In addition, UV is of interest in in drinking water disinfection because of its effectiveness on Cryptosporidium, Giardia, and viruses.
