Course Content
This presentation summarizes the use of coagulation processes in water and wastewater treatment. The stability of solids in water will be discussed including the influence of solution characteristics such as pH, dissolved inorganic and organic ions, temperature, etc. on solid stability. Common methods for destabilization will be summarized along with use of laboratories using jar testing for evaluating treatment alternatives. Considerations for scaling laboratory results to actual operations will be given.
