Description
Public drinking water systems face numerous regulations pertaining to surface water treatment, disinfectant byproduct formation, lead and copper, arsenic and groundwater. Compliance with multiple regulations often involves trade-offs where improvement in one area conflicts with performance in another. Still, systems must develop an over-all compliance strategy that satisfies all pertinent regulations for their facility. Operators and environmental professionals need to have a basic understanding of the impact of these regulations on drinking water treatment plant operation and monitoring.
