To provide operators and other environmental professionals with a basic understanding of the unit operations and process monitoring used in conventional drinking water treatment plants.

This presentation summarizes the unit operations used in conventional water treatment plants, and discusses the fundamentals of each operation including the constituents removed. Process monitoring rrequirements to maintain effective control of plant operations are presented along with the alternative types of available equipment.
