Description
First, it is vital to understand ICS, as this incident management system is the national standard for responding to any incident anywhere in the U.S. Second, using ICS is required by NIMS. In addition, it is important for utility emergency planners to understand when and how federal agencies are expected to respond and the services that they can offer during an incident. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) ICS-200 (ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents) and IS-800.b (NRF, An Introduction) certifications will be available to all participants.
