Description
This course will show the participant how to design and perform unidirectional flushing of the water distribution system. This flushing technique improves water quality by effectively removing sediment and other impurities from the interior of water pipes. Subjects covered include flushing program objectives, tool and equipment requirements, valve and hydrant operation, flushing program design, data collection, safety and customer relations. The students will apply the knowledge gained by working in teams to design a unidirectional flushing program for a small distribution system.
